State Road Work for the week beginning November 1, 2010
Jefferson County:
Interstate 264: Lane closures and delays possible between Interstate 64 and Westport Road (mile points 19.0 and 20.8) due to replacement of concrete pavement on the mainline of I-264. Lane closures are scheduled from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5th until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8th. Traffic will be reduced to two lanes during most of this work and may be further reduced to one lane during the overnight hours.
Interstate 65: Lane closures and delays expected on the John F. Kennedy Bridge over the Ohio River (mile points 136.7 to 137.3) due to bridge inspection. Single lane closures are scheduled for weeknights November 1st – 11th from 8:00 p.m. each evening until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Lane closures are also scheduled for Sunday evening, November 7th from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.
Interstate 64: Construction delays possible between I-265 and the Jefferson/Shelby County line (mile points 18.8 and 23.9) due to roadway widening. The speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH in the construction zone and this is a double fine work zone. Construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2010. The following ramps will be closed periodically on Monday, November 1st and Tuesday, November 2nd from 10:00 p.m. each evening until 4:00 a.m. the following morning:
- Westbound Interstate 64 to northbound Interstate 265
- Westbound Interstate 64 to southbound Interstate 265
- Northbound Interstate 265 to westbound Interstate 64
US 60A (Lexington Road): Lane closures and delays possible between Alta Vista Road and US 60 (mile points 8.7 and 10.5) due to sidewalk repairs. Lane closures are scheduled daily from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
KY 146: Lane closures and delays possible near Interstate 265 between Nelson Miller Parkway and Springs Station Road (mile points 6.9 and 7.8) due to construction of turning lanes. No left turns allowed from the northbound I-265 exit. Motorists should follow the signed detour via the Old Henry Road exit. They can turn left at the end of the ramp, then turn right onto Nelson Miller Parkway and finally left onto westbound KY 146.
KY 148: Roadway is reduced to one lane at the Floyds Fork Bridge (mile point 0.98) due to bridge deck repairs. Motorists should watch for a temporary traffic signal that is in place. Work is scheduled to be completed at the end of October. Wide loads are restricted from using this bridge during construction.
KY 155 (Taylorsville Road): Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with Landherr Drive (mile point 8.2) due to construction of the Blankenbaker Parkway extension.
Westbound KY 841 (Gene Snyder Freeway): The following westbound entrance and exit ramps will be closed to allow for sealing pavement joints:
- KY 1020 (National Turnpike) – November 2nd and 3rd from 9:00 p.m. each evening until 6:00 a.m. the following morning
- KY 1865 (New Cut Road) – November 4th and 5th from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 6:00 a.m. the following morning
- US 31W (Dixie Highway) – November 6th and 7th from 9:00 p.m. each evening until 6:00 a.m. the following morning
- Stone Street Road – November 8th and 9th from 7:00 p.m. each evening until 6:00 a.m. the following morning
KY 864 (Poplar Level Road): Lane closures and delays possible at Trevilian Way (mile point 12.0) due to median repairs.
KY 913 (Blankenbaker Parkway): Lane closures and delays possible at the intersection with Blankenbaker Access Drive (mile point 0.9) due to roadway construction. Chenoweth Run Road will be closed between Taylorsville Road and Blankenbaker Parkway. The roadway is scheduled for closure at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 30th and will remain closed until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, November 15th. Motorists should follow the signed detour via Taylorsville Road, Ruckriegel Parkway and Blankenbaker Access Drive.
KY 1142 (Palatka Road): Lane closures scheduled between Dogwood Road and Stone Hill Road (mile points 0.35 and 0.5) due to pavement repairs. The lane closures are scheduled for Saturday, October 30th and Sunday, October 31st from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. each day.
KY 1447 (Westport Road): Lane closures and delays possible between Hubbards Lane and I-264 (mile points 0.9 and 1.9) due to roadway widening. Speed limit on Westport Road has been reduced to 25 MPH in the construction zone.
KY 1747 (Hurstbourne Parkway): Lane closures and delays possible between Linn Station Road and US 60 (mile points 12.2 and 13.5) due to roadway resurfacing. Lane closures scheduled weeknights from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning.
KY 1865 (Taylor Boulevard): Lane closures and delays possible between Third Street Road and Berry Boulevard (mile points 2.6 and 6.1) due to sidewalk ramp repairs. Lane closures scheduled weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and all day on weekends.

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Hawkins reminds motorists that they should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.

Residents and Business Leaders:
Louisville Metro Department of Housing and Family Services Office for Aging and Disabled Citizens has informed us that there is a group of young people working eastern Jefferson County selling magazine subscriptions and other services. The name they are using is Nxcess Sales. The amount of the sales (profits) are supposed to go to a charity. They will have local information and a sad story to tell you. This is a scam and you will lose whatever you pay them. They cash checks the same day and continue on to another neighborhood.
