This year there will be a chili dinner. The chili dinner is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. The PTA will also have a cash only basket auction.

Planning continues for a new 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art Southwest Regional Library, to be located in the 9900 block of Dixie Highway next to Meijer. This new resource library will be more than twice the size of the current library and will enhance service for nearly 100,000 people in southwestern Jefferson County.

Please join us for the Public Building Program scheduled for October 26, 6:30 p.m. at the current Southwest Library, 10375 Dixie Highway. The library especially encourages families and teachers to attend the session to give suggestions for what services the regional library should include for students and pre-school children.

VHS vs. J-town

Please join fellow Valley High School alumni Friday, October 15, 2010 at 5pm for a Tailgate Party before the “Senior Night’ football game.  The tailgate party will be held on the school’s parking lot. There will be events to benefit the Abigail Dixon Memorial Healthcare Scholarship.  The fundraiser events include a live band, half and half raffle tickets, craft sale, bake sale, BBQ, and silent auction.

Also, the Class of 2000 will be having their 10 year reunion at Mike Linnig’s Restaurant on Cane Run Road, Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 6PM to 10PM.  Scholarship fundraiser activities will also be held including a drawing for a gift basket.
