To All:
By now, we all know that we’re in for a very wet weekend.
I just spoke with Mike Callahan, chief hydrologist, with local National Weather Service office. He is looking at several models that show varying lines and patterns for this weekends’ rain. With any current pattern, we should expect between 3 t 8 inches of rain from midnight tonight through Monday morning.
Callahan believes, NOW, that this rain will produce periods of heavy rain, with, at least moderate rain between the heaviest cells. Heaviest rain should fall during daylight hours Saturday and into Saturday evening.
Since Wednesday, MSD crews have been clearing trash and debris away from catch basins and gutter drains, especially in lower lying areas and in viaducts. MSD will hold additional crews and schedule overtime for the duration of the event.
Callahan says this system could track up the Ohio Valley, if it maintains its energy, which could cause rises on the Ohio River later in the coming week.
Stay tuned,
Bud
