Brad Alsop

The Patriot Runner

BradIn 2006, Brad Alsop observed Veterans Day by running 40.5 miles carrying a large American flag.  His self-sacrificing act focused attention on the importance of Veterans Day: to honor American’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.  Brad Alsop’s mission began at Jefferson Memorial Forest and ended at Buechel War Memorial.  Brad Alsop’s tribute to veterans is recognized as an act of support and honoring of past, present and future troops.  His achievement is inspirational and, his message of support is to be commemorated.

Pictured to the left is Brad Alsop after receiving a proclamation from Councilman Doug Hawkins in 2006.
