Who Is Doug Hawkins?

Councilman Doug Hawkins was elected to serve on the first Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Council in November 2002.
Hawkins formed the Minority Affairs Committee, on which he has served as Chairman and Co-Chairman. He has also served as Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Committee and currently serves on the Appropriations Committee, the Labor, Jobs and Economic Development Committee, and the Contracts Committee.
Hawkins is a licensed real estate broker, appraiser and owner of Hawkins Realty Group and Hawkins Appraisal Services. Hawkins made this career choice early in his life, at the age of 18 received his license which made him one of the youngest Licensed Realtors in Kentucky. He continued on this career path and at age 20, while still attending college, acquired his real estate brokers’ license.
